I try to push myself and the team just past our comfort zones to where maybe we don’t quite have all the answers. We’re never reckless — but it’s when we’re a little off balance that we evolve both individually and as a company.

Leading MarketCast Group for 15+ years has been an exercise in maintaining equilibrium among often-competing masters: investing for growth while driving consistent financial returns; maintaining best-in-class service while delivering on hair-raising project timelines; innovating and evolving while maintaining healthy skepticism about “flavor of the month” research tech; and being boutique-nimble but with global scale and full-service brawn. Henry’s job as CEO is to set and execute along a strategic path that can make all of these “competing masters” not just satisfied but super served.

Henry has more than 30 years of experience in a variety of roles within media and entertainment. Prior to MarketCast he worked as general manager of Variety and of Variety.com. He served as CFO and operations manager at Meigher Communications, a NY-based start-up magazine publisher. He began his career as a banker and investment banker, first at Chemical Bank and then in the media and communications group at Lehman Brothers.

Henry lives in Santa Monica with his wife, two children, two beagles, and handful of chickens, and he enjoys horseback riding on the weekends, always with a helmet and plenty of sunscreen.

With a never-ending list of projects and tasks, the only way to get anything done is to use a to-do list. I'm constantly rearranging priorities, and sometimes the most satisfying part of the day is crossing something off of the list.

John focuses on all areas of the business, from making sure the lights are on to shedding light on what the most recent financial results mean. The accounting, finance, and HR departments report to John. He’s responsible for risk management, acquisition analysis, individual company and corporate-wide budgeting, contract review, and business integrations.

John asks questions. He realizes that he can’t answer questions if he doesn’t understand the initial problem, underlying goal, or theory of outcomes. Problem solving can’t always be done in isolation, so iteration and collaboration often produce the best result.

He has spent the bulk of his career in entertainment-related companies. His ability to manage growth by developing and leveraging staff and technology has been a hallmark of his success.

He owns a great set of golf clubs that travel with him to and from work. Occasionally he gets to pull them out of his trunk on the weekends and use them.

The days of research being a binary — qualitative vs. quantitative — are long gone. I’m excited about charting the course for research in elevating and evolving brands over the long term.

Chris oversees research operations, technology, and marketing across all MarketCast Group portfolio companies. As a researcher, he unravels how external inputs, emotions, and needs come together to drive consumer action. He is most intrigued by the stories that people unknowingly tell themselves. Chris consults on study design, analytics, and insights for some of the Group’s largest media and entertainment clients.

He has more than 15 years of experience designing research studies. He is passionate about leading studies that build new products and extend existing IP in innovative ways.

Chris began his career at CEB (now Gartner) helping IT executives and their teams grow their enterprises, fuel competitive advantage, and operate more efficiently. He then spent nearly a decade at Penn Schoen Berland, a WPP company, helping to launch and grow its media and entertainment practice.

He’s an avid runner and competitive sports fan. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and rescue dog, Molly.

It would be a boring world if everyone were the same. I’m passionate about understanding the wide range of cultures and countries we cover in our research and, most importantly, identifying how clients should act on the differences and commonalties we find.

Based out of London, Henry oversees MarketCast’s international business and assists MarketCast Group companies in tailoring their services for international clients. As part of his role, he guides clients in using an array of techniques and inputs — whether qualitative or quantitative research, social or transactional data, stated or emotional response — to understand the dynamics of each international market.

Henry worked in research on behalf of a range of global TV companies before developing Nielsen Entertainment’s international video games and movie research businesses. He joined MarketCast in 2008 to help establish its international division and has since developed a specialist team that regularly conducts projects in over 30 countries.

He loves a wide range of screen-based entertainment, as well as old-fashioned paper books, and is a fan of the unusual sides of mainstream sports. His recent discoveries include ‘real’ tennis and ski mountaineering.
